Our 98 Country December Veteran of the Month, John Johnson, and his wife Deb, stopped by the studio recently. We had a great conversation about life in the Navy, specifically on a submarine. Pete doesn't think he could do it. I would have to agree. Not an easy job.

John got used to it, but not everyone does. But he told us something we didn't know about the Navy. He said being on a sub is voluntary:

"In case there are any young people interested in a career on submarines, authority on a submarine is granted.  The submarine force is voluntary.  You may leave at any time and fulfill your obligation in another area in the Navy."

Maybe we can get Pete on a sub after all?

You can hear our entire conversation with John and Deb here.
