Packers Beat Vikings; Ponder Looks Good
The Vikings lost at home to Green Bay 33-27 Sunday afternoon and fall to 1-6 on the season. Minnesota led 17-13 at halftime but was outscored 20-0 in the 3rd quarter. Minnesota staged a comeback in the 4th quarter with 10 straight points. Rookie Christian Ponder made his first NFL start and was 13-32 passing for 219 yards and 2 touchdowns with 2 interceptions. He also ran for 31 yards. Adrian Peterson ran for 175 yards on 24 carries with 1 touchdown and Michael Jenkins led the Vikings with 3 catches for 111 yards and 1 touchdown.
Aaron Rodgers led the Packers throwing for 335 yards and 3 touchdowns on 24-30 passing. Bernard Berrian was inactive for the Vikings despite not being injured and Minnesota played without cornerback Chris Cook, who was jailed Saturday after being arrested for alleged domestic assault.
