The Vocal Group of the Year category was arguably the most loaded of all 2011 CMA Awards categories, and Lady Antebellum said as much as they accepted the honor during Wednesday night’s broadcast. It’s the second straight year the trio has taken home the award.

Sorry, ladies — it seems that the last remaining single member of Lady Antebellum, Dave Haywood, is officially taken. According to his rep, things are getting serious for Haywood and lady friend Kelli Cashiola, who looked especially comfortable together at the BMI Awards on Tuesday evening.

Lady Antebellum haven’t even launched the first leg of their Own the Night Tour yet, but they are already gearing up for the second leg in 2012. The new arena dates run from January 27 in Tulsa, Okla. through June 29 in Indianapolis, Ind., and will feature Darius Rucker and Thompson Square sharing opening act duties.

Sunday evening (October 16), the best of the best in Nashville’s songwriting community gathered at the Renaissance Hotel in the heart of Music City, where dozens of tunesmiths were recognized at the 41st Anniversary Hall of Fame Dinner and Induction Ceremony. The Dec. 5 FOX broadcast honors country artists in traditional categories like Artist of the Year, but also unconventional categories like Touring Headline Act of the Year.
