The nominations for the second annual American Country Awards were announced on Wednesday, with Jason Aldean and the Zac Brown Band leading the way with eight nods each. The Dec. 5 FOX broadcast honors country artists in traditional categories like Artist of the Year, but also unconventional categories like Touring Headline Act of the Year.
The CMAs are the best awards show when it comes to live performances and this year, just like on country radio, there will be a lot of duets.
We already knew Jason Aldean, Blake Shelton, and Taylor Swift had big years and now we know they stand to celebrate by cleaning up at the 2011 CMA Awards, where each of them have just been honored with multiple nominations in this year’s pool of potential winners.
The nominees were announced Tuesday at a pair of live events. Jake Owen and the Band Perry revealed the nominations for five categories during their joint appearance on ‘Good Morning America,’ then Jerrod Niemann and Thompson Square handled the rest from the Ryman in Nashville later in the morning.
The CMA Awards will be handed out on November 9th and the full list of nominations were announced this morning. At the same time, Jake Owen performed his latest, "Barefoot Blue Jean Night". Love it!
