While Kelly Clarkson's 'Don't Rush' lyrics were not intended for her originally, the song wound up in her hands and was a perfect fit. Not only did she nail the vocals, but Clarkson also had the good sense to bring in the heavenly voice of Vince Gill, which left the song's three writers -- Natalie Hemby, Blu Sanders and Lindsay Chapman -- beyond thrilled with the outcome.
Country music took center stage on CBS Wednesday night (Dec. 5), where the 2013 Grammy nominees were announced during a fun-filled hour of music. Taylor Swift and Kelly Clarkson picked up early nominations, and Swift joined rapper LL Cool J as host of the Grammy nominations concert. After just a few minutes of the broadcast, Dierks Bentley and the Band Perry were performing Johnny Cash songs for viewers.
From the opening moments of 'Blake Shelton's Not So Family Christmas Special' to the final credits, the popular country crooner kept viewers laughing. And there's a reason why the special wasn't entirely family-friendly -- the program had everything from Christmas carols to swear words to a fistfight.
The 2012 CMA Awards included over 20 performances -- more if you count the skits and songs hosts Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood played between award announcements.

It's a double header. Since it only took seven minutes for his first show at Boston's historic and legendary Fenway Park to sell out, it's no surprise that Jason Aldean has added a second show at the famed baseball stadium, home to the Boston Red Sox.
Kelly Clarkson has enjoyed a few hit duets in the country music field already, and soon, she'll add Vince Gill to her roster. The track listing for the first 'American Idol' winner's upcoming album, 'Greatest Hits -- Chapter 1,' has been released, and tucked alongside her pop hits is a sweet duet with Gill titled 'Don't Rush.'
Pop star Kelly Clarkson has dabbled in country music over the past couple of years. Teaming up with Reba McEntire and Jason Aldean went really well for the first 'American Idol' winner. Last weekend Kelly played a show in Australia and paid tribute to another 'American Idol' winner - Carrie Underwood, by covering her latest single 'Blown Away'.
Eric Church, Carrie Underwood, Kenny Chesney and the Band Perry are the latest performers to be announced for the 46th annual CMA Music Awards, which will air live on from Nashville's Bridgestone Arena on Thursday, November 1.
We are less than a month away from my favorite country music award show - the CMA's! The show is always packed full of incredible performances and this year is shaping up to be no different.
Hot country star Eric Church just got a little hotter. The ‘Drink in My Hand’ hitmaker leads the 2012 CMA Award nominations with a whopping five. Church is up for Male Vocalist of the Year and Album of the Year. His No. 1 hit ‘Springsteen’ also earned him nods in the categories of Single of the Year, Song of the Year and Music Video of the Year.
