2011 CMA Awards Worst Dressed Pictures
Yikes! There were some serious fashion strikes on the 2011 CMA Awards red carpet, beginning with Laura Bell Bundy‘s pantless purple dress cape … well, we’re not sure what to call it. C’mon, girl!

Neutral tones reigned supreme on the best dressed ladies at the 2011 CMA Awards. Hostess Carrie Underwood looked like a golden goddess in her shimmering nude gown. Miranda Lambert was great arm candy for husband Blake Shelton is her bedazzled black number accented with a chunky ring and earrings.
Miranda Lambert has her second career win as Female Vocalist of the Year, this time at 2011 CMA Awards.
Nashville was rocking tonight with country’s biggest stars like Keith Urban, Zac Brown, Taylor Swift and Lady Antebellum providing the soundtrack for the 2011 CMA Awards! Blake Shelton opened the night with a high-flying performance of ‘Footloose.’ Kenny Chesney and Grace Potter teamed up for a tender performance of ‘You and Tequila,’ and Taylor Swift performed her new single ‘Ours’ on what looked like her worn in living room couch.
One of the most talked about performances leading up to the 2011 CMA Awards show was the return of Faith Hill and the premiere of her new single, ‘Come Home.’ When the lights came on to the stage, Hill stood at the microphone looking like a knockout in a black sheer shirt, black pants and red stiletto heals.
Today’s country music wouldn’t be what it is without the iconic stars that led the way, like Glen Campbell, who changed the face of the industry with a string of Top 10 hits in the 1960s and ’70s. Realizing his greatness, Vince Gill, Keith Urban and Brad Paisley took the stage at the 2011 CMA Awards to honor the legend, who announced in June that he’s been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease.
While we’ve been enjoying the newer names at the 2011 CMA Awards and reveling in awards like Best New Artist, there’s something comforting about a familiar face. Martina McBride was just that tonight as she offered up a smooth performance of her inspiring single ‘I’m Gonna Love You Through It’ from the central stage.
Blake Shelton, the CMA reigning Male Vocalist of the Year, once again took the honors home during the 2011 CMA Awards on Wednesday night. Shelton competed in the category against Album of the Year winner Jason Aldean, Kenny Chesney, Brad Paisley and Keith Urban.
The Vocal Group of the Year category was arguably the most loaded of all 2011 CMA Awards categories, and Lady Antebellum said as much as they accepted the honor during Wednesday night’s broadcast. It’s the second straight year the trio has taken home the award.
Jason Aldean gave the audience at the 2011 CMA Awards a taste of life in small-town America when he performed his single ‘Tattoos on This Town.’ Although he likely was full of anticipation as a top contender for several of the evening’s awards, he seemed fully into the performance of the song about teenage antics, including drag racing pickup trucks and Mustangs up and down dirt roads and otherwise leaving ‘Tattoos on This Town.’
Scotty McCreery performed an abbreviated version of the song ‘Walk in the Country’ during the 2011 CMA Awards on Wednesday night. The song, from McCreery’s debut album ‘Clear as Day,’ led into the announcement of the 2011 CMA Radio Stations of the Year honors.
For the Band Perry, the first, second and third time is a charm. The sibling trio picked up the award for New Artist of the Year at the 2011 CMA Awards, following wins for both Song of the Year and Single of the Year.
