If you have no other pets and are looking for a catnip and lap-loving addition to your home, meet Athena – also known as  Tina. She was adopted and then returned because she was terrified of the other pets in her new home.  As the only pet, she will greet you at the door and meow a welcome when you come home. Once Athena picks her favorite chair, you will know where to look for her.  She is spayed and declawed and is 8 years old. Athena qualifies for our pets for seniors program and could be adopted for no fee by a senior citizen.

This handsome beagle is named Barley. He is only one year old and was surrendered because the puppy in him inspired him to chew on things that were not his. Switching out appealing chew toys to keep Barley busy is a great tool to direct this behavior to the appropriate items. Crate training when you’re away is also suggested. Barley attended puppy classes and is fluent in the commands sit, up, dance, stay, down, off, roll over and shake. In the past, he was affectionate towards school-age children and another dog. He is neutered and on the fast-track to mastering his house-training skills using the doorknob “puppy bell.” Stop by the Tri-County Humane Society today to see if this adorable “quick-study” could be your new pal.
