Every year, after we've run out of presents and eggnog and it's time to pack up the decorations, I vow to put away the Christmas tree lights in some way that won't produce a hopeless tangle.

Then, the next November, I take them out of the box and say, "How on Earth did this hopeless tangle happen?!" Ditch that hopeless tangle here.

98 Country is partnering with the Recycling Association of Minnesota (RAM) to collect  used, broken holiday lights this year.

"Recycle Your Holidays ™” recycles every part of the light strings. This year the goal is to recycle 200,000 light strands and to encourage more Minnesotans to make the change to LED light strands."

Unlike any other holiday lights recycling program in the country, RAM will recycle all lights and cords free of charge and RAM contracts with local vocational centers to provide meaningful jobs and green job training for individuals with disabilities.

"Recycle Your Holidays ™ is a great way to get rid of broken light strands and upgrade to new, high-efficient LED holiday lights.

Bring your old lights to the 98 Country Studios at 640 Lincoln Ave SE in St. Cloud or for more information about Recycle Your Holidays™ visit www.RecycleMinnesota.org.
