I would like to personally say "thank" to all the Veterans from past wars, our current members of the military and anyone who is even planning on enlisting this memorial day.

I'm just as guilty as anyone, so don't take this as a "shaming" message, but we often look as Memorial Day Weekend as another holiday where  we get Monday off from work.  And while it's important to spend time with friends and family, let's also remember why we celebrate this day.

It seems our freedom is often taken for granted.  The truth is that many have given their lives so we can enjoy what this country has to offer.  Sometimes I watch the politicians squabble about trivial things and think that we have forgotten the big picture.  We have it pretty darn good in the country compared to the rest of the world.

You can debate all you want about how we gained our freedom, but the bottom line is that many men and women in the military were just following orders and spilled their blood for the rest of us.  There will always be people in the world who are envious and jealous or who want "revenge" for something or other.  We need our military to protect us from these people.

Hopefully one day the world finds peace, but until then our military will continue to serve and continue to give their lives in the name of freedom.   For that I salute all of them on this Memorial Day.  God Bless America.
