Scary Places: Eastern State Penitentiary

Eastern State Penitentiary In Philadelphia was once the most famous and expensive prison in the world, but today it sits empty. Except for the ghosts of inmates past.

We had a chance to visit Eastern State Penn a few years ago. We thought about going at night when it's scary, but we did the daytime tour instead. That was creepy enough!

If you do want a real terrifying experience, they offer "Terror Behind The Walls" for those who think they can handle it.  I've heard that it's not for the faint of heart!

There were a lot of famous inmates at ESP, most notably, Al Capone. His cell was quite luxurious compared to others. I guess he had connections even inside the walls.
