What cost more than 10-times the production budget of the new Batman movie "The Dark Knight Rises"? What features a sky crane, rockets, along with perfect timing and choreography? It's NASA's Mars Rover "Curiosity", and it landed safely this morning and began beaming black and white images of the Martian landscape back to earth. Later in the week, larger color images are expected. The trip took about 9 months and covered over 350 million miles of space. And had "Curiosity" crashed, it may have led to the end of the U.S. Mars space program due to shrinking budgets.
