ST. CLOUD - St. Cloud Police Lieutenent Jeff Oxton has confirmed that there was a shooting that happened at about 7:30 p.m. this (Tuesday) evening.

Oxton says there is no threat to public safety, and no reason for the public to be concerned at this time.

He says they're still piecing together all of the details, and will release the official statement with more information once they know they have all the details correct.

The eastbound lanes of Division Street in St. Cloud were shut down for about an hour and a half this (Tuesday) evening while St. Cloud police investigated the crime scene.

Traffic was diverted from 22nd Avenue to 25th Avenue, in front of of the SuperAmerica Store to in front of the CVS Pharmacy, from about 7:30 p.m. until about 9:00 p.m.

Besides officers from the St. Cloud Police Department, deputies from the Stearns County Sheriff's Department, and troopers from the Minnesota State Patrol assisted at the scene.

Meanwhile, officers were also in the parking lot area near the former Cash Wise building near the skating park at the same time.
