The St. John's football team traveled to Northfield this afternoon and ran over St. Olaf 31-0, improving the Johnnies record to 2-1 in the MIAC, and 4-1 overall. The #18 Huskies weren't as fortunate, falling to the #11 UMD Bulldogs 34-7 in Duluth. The Gophers dropped to 0-2 in the Big Ten after stumbling at Michigan 42-13.

SCSU took an early lead in their game, before UMD rolled off 34 unanswered points. The loss is the first of the season for the Huskies who are now 4-1.

Gopher head coach Jerry Kill suffered another epileptic seizure back in Minneapolis, and didn't make the trip to Ann Arbor with the team. The Gophers are now 0-2 in the Big Ten, and 4-2 over all.

Next up for the Johnnies, at home next Saturday vs. Augsburg. Next on the Huskies schedule is U of M-Crookston in St. Cloud Saturday. The Gophers have a bye next week before playing at Northwestern on October 19th.
