In these tough economic times, we all are tired of what Washington is, or in most cases, isn't doing. Personally, I don't typically discuss politics. Your views are your views, mine are mine and that's the way it should be. However, when I see politicians on television every single day trashing their opponents and playing the blame game, I get angered by it.

When I hear our current panel of politicians making the rounds saying that the other side is responsible for our economic problems, I can't help but say to myself - it's EVERYONE'S problem! They are supposed to be in Washington acting like rational adults, representing what the majority of the population wants from our government. They are supposed to be there to make decisions that will protect us as a country and keep us from being the laughing stock of the world.

All I have heard is that no one in Washington wants to upset anyone because they are all looking for re-election. I say BS! Do what's right for the country and the people will remember that - whether they agree with you or not. Be honest, be fair and do what's right for all - not your pocket book.

I have heard the words "Super Rich" so many times over the last 2 months that I think I will vomit if I hear it again. We all know that the "Super Rich" are the ones that fund a lot of the candidates campaign funds right? We have all thought to ourselves, well they won't tax the "Super Rich" if they are looking to get money from them for their campaign - and generally that's what happens.

Today CNN is reporting that some of the "Super Rich" are stepping up to the plate and finally doing something about what is going on in Washington. Dad always told me, when "the money" speaks, people listen. The money is certainly speaking these days.

I can honestly say that I am proud of Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz for stepping up. He is coming to the table and telling our elected officials that he will not contribute to ANY campaigns until our lawmakers agree on a long-term deal can be reached on debt, revenue and spending. But he isn't stopping there. He has reached out to every CEO he can to spread the word for them to follow suit and he says that he is hearing from some powerful people - but not one politician.

In another story, billionaire Warren Buffet is openly saying he WANTS to pay more taxes! Wait, the "Super Rich" want to pay MORE? Yes, Mr. Buffet is tired of being coddled by Washington and says the wealthiest of Americans should be paying more in taxes so our lower and middle class can survive. My jaw almost hit the floor when I read that. Someone who is wealthy is telling Washington they need to be taxed.

I don't want to publish this to get into a political debate about which side is right or wrong or where our country is headed. The point behind this article is that there are some very powerful people in our country that are finally taking a stand and doing what is right for the American people. I feel they should be thanked for finally having the courage to stand up to the politicians - all of them - and speak what is on the minds of every American these days - CUT THE CRAP AND FIX OUR COUNTRY!
