Facebook

Olive Marie Osmond born October 13, 1959 in Ogden, Utah. She is the first one to acknowledge that she’s not a traditional country singer, her term is contemporary country. She has had several songs that charted on the country charts.

It didn’t take long for Marie to start her show business career. At age three she appeared with her brother on Andy Williams Network TV show. At thirteen she had her first charted country record, the cross-over hit “Paper Roses” in 1973.  At age fourteen Marie began touring with her brother Donnie. A musical TV variety show Donnie and Marie.

Marie and Brother Donnie’s duet version of “I Am Leaving it all Up to You” in 1974 went to number 17 on the country chart. In 1985 she recorded “Meet Me in Montana” with Dan Seals. The song hit number one on the country chart.

She shared in the CMA’s Vocal of the Year Award for that duet with Seals in 1986.  Osmond has been married three times to two different men. She remarried her first husband, Stephen Lyle Craig, 2011 after separating  from her second husband. In 1999 she revealed that she suffered from postpartum depression.  On April 29, 2009 her son Michael committed suicide in Los Angeles. He battled depression for most of his life.

Join me Sunday June 2 when the spotlight shines on Marie Osmond at 11 a.m. We get started at 9 a.m. with the Country Classic Show on 98.1 FM 98 Country.
