Born Marion Franklin Bandy Jr on February 12, 1944 in Meridian, Mississippi, raised in San Antonio, Texas.  From the time he made his break through record, "I Just Started Hatin' Cheatin' Songs Today" in 1974, until he left Columbia Records in 1986, Bandy seldom strayed from the Texas honky tonk style on which he was nurtured.

His smooth vocal style, performed to the accompaniment of fiddle and steel guitar, Bandy made it commercially.  In 1975 a song written by Lefty Frizzell and Whitey Shaffer, gave him a top 10 hit at number seven, "Bandy the Rodeo Clown" it became one of his most popular recordings.  In 1979, Bandy joined forces with Joe Stampley, they recorded, "Just Good Ole Boys," it went to the top of the charts and it lead to a partnership over the years.

In 1991 Bandy opens his Americana Theatre in Branson, Missouri.  He still performs frequently in Branson, Missouri.  Moe and his brother Mike  were intducted into the Texas Rodeo Cowboy Hall of Fame in 2007.  Moe Bandy will perform at Rollies Rednecks and Longnecks in Sauk Rapids Sunday June 17 at 6:00 PM.
