Sunday Morning Country Classic Spotlight to Feature Ned Miller

amazon

Ned Miller, born in Raines, Utah on April 12, 1925.  Singer, songwriter, Ned Miller wrote and recorded just a handful of classic country music hits, a career that spanned just fourteen years.

Miller grew up in Salt Lake City. In the mid 1950′s, he decided to follow his dreams and become a singer and songwriter. His first release was a song which did not chart. After several unsuccessful recordings his luck began to change when his song, “From a Jack to a King” was reissued to become one of 1963′s biggest hits topping number two on the country chart and number six on the pop chart.

Then came “Invisible Tears,” hitting number 13 on the country charts in 1964, followed by, “Do What You Do Do well.”  Miller continued to record until 1970. He wrote or co-wrote music with his wife Susan that found chart success for other artists, among them Gale Storms, Faron young, Porter Wagoner and others.

Miller faded into obscurity after the 1960′s. In the 1980′s Ricky Van Shelton recorded “From a Jack to a King”  he took the song to number one on the country charts.

Join me Sunday Morning May 26th as I showcase the music of Ned Miller at 11 a.m.  We get started at 9 a.m. with the Country Classic Show on 98.1 FM 98 Country.
