Join me at 11 a.m. Sunday for the Sunday Morning Country Classic Spotlight.  This week we are featuring Vince Gill.  The Country Classic Show kicks off at 9 a.m.

Vince Gill was no overnight success, having spent a number of years paying dues before he found solo stardom.  He joined the country-pop act Pure Prairie League and recorded three albums with the group.  His stint with the Pure Prairie League lead to Gill singing lead on the bands 1980 pop hit, Let Me Love You Tonight.

Vince married Janis Oliver on April 12, 1980 and their only child, Jennifer was born May 5, 1982.  In the mid 1980's Janis and her sister Kristine founded the group Sweethearts of the Rodeo.

Vince has been honored by the Country Music Association with 18 CMA awards.  He has also earned 20 Grammy Awards, more than any other male country music artist.

Vince and Janis divorced in June of 1998. He went on to marry Christian-pop singer Amy Grant in March of 2000.  They have one daughter.

Vince and Amy are big fans of the Nashville Predators.  In the 2007 playoffs, they sang the National Anthem for each game.  He is also an avid golfer.
