Scotty McCreery won Season 10 of ‘American Idol’ and became a legit country superstar in the ensuing year, so of course he has plenty of advice to offer to and to instill in the winner of Season 11, Phillip Phillips. McCreery offered his heir apparent a few choice words of advice: “Go out there looking to learn.”

Well the reigning champ will return to grace the Idol stage twice this week for the two night season finale that kicks off tonight (May 22) and wraps up tomorrow night (May 23).

Before 'American Idol' Scotty McCreery was the pitcher for his high school baseball team. Now that he is a famous singer with a couple of hit singles, a debut album on the shelves, and tours on the books, you would think there would be no time in his life for a measly high school baseball team...wrong!

It’s that time again, country fans! The 2012 season of ‘American Idol’ will kick off this January. It’ll be the show’s 11th season and let’s hope that this season follows the same trajectory as the last, when the final two contestants were country artists! Will Scotty McCreery‘s heir apparent make it to the top? Will we find our next Lauren Alaina? It’s certainly an exciting prospect, since country music dominated the show last season. That trend could very well continue into 2012.
