SCSU’s Klaphake on Harlon Hill Finalist List
St. Cloud State junior quarterback Phil Klaphake has been named one of 24 finalists for the top player in Division II college football, the Harlon Hill Trophy. Klaphake threw for 2,519 yards and 26 touchdowns and has run for 460 yards and 7 touchdowns for the Huskies in 2012. He ranks in the top three in the NSIC in passing average per game, total offense and pass efficiency.

The Holdingford Huskers lost 23-20 in double overtime to BOLD in the Class 2-A State Tournament Quarterfinals at St. Cloud State Thursday night. The game was tied at 14 at the end of regulation. Both team scored touchdowns in the first overtime but both teams missed their extra points. Nick Kubesch of BOLD made a field goal in the 2nd overtime to win the game.

The Rocori football team lost 29-28 at the Fargodome Thursday night. Detroit Lakes went out to a 29-0 lead at halftime before Rocori can storming back in the 2nd half. Rocori got on the board in the 2nd half with a Alex Austad 7-yard touchdown run. The 2-point conversion failed and Rocori trailed 29-6.
