The Timberwolves introduced 6’7 guard/forward Chase Budinger at a press conference Wednesday afternoon. Budinger was traded for by the Wolves Tuesday when they sent the 18th overall pick in this year’s draft to Houston for him and little known prospect 6’9 forward Lior Eliyahu. Budinger average
The Miami Heat advanced to the NBA Finals for the second consecutive year by eliminating the Boston Celtics, 101-88, in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Finals on Saturday.
The West beat the East in the NBA All Star game in Orlando, Florida Sunday night. Kevin Durant of Oklahoma City had 36 points for the West and was named the Most Valuable Player.
The Timberwolves won 105-90 at Dallas Wednesday night to improve to 2-0 against the defending NBA champs this season. Kevin Love led the Wolves with 31 points and 10 rebounds, Ricky Rubio added 17 points and 12 assists and Wayne Ellington added 16 points for Minnesota.
The Timberwolves lost 111-100 to the Chicago Bulls at Target Center Tuesday night. Minnesota fell behind by 24 points in the first half but rallied to tie the game at 70 in the 3rd quarter.
The Timberwolves lost 98-95 at Milwaukee Tuesday night to fall to 0-2 on the season. Minnesota trailed by more than 20 points but Kevin Love’s missed 3-point shot at the buzzer would have forced overtime.
The Timberwolves made the game interesting but lost 104-100 at home to Oklahoma City Monday night in their regular season opener.
July 12, 2011 Kurt Rambis was hired on as the head coach to the struggling Minnesota Timberwolves back in 2009, and needless to say our status in the NBA hasn't improved. He led the Wolves to an embarrassing 17-65 season last year, leaving the Minnesota team with the worst record in the NBA. This morning the Timberwolves let the coach go.
