The last time I checked pennies were still considered legal U.S. tender. I remember having to pay tolls every morning to go across the bridges in New York and there were so many times I only had pennies to give them. They would refuse and wouldn't let me cross until I came up with some cash. My question is, if businesses and government offices aren't willing to accept pennies as payment, why is the U.S. Mint STILL producing them?
