Well, Oregon, it was fun while at lasted. Earlier this week, it was reported that Matt Groening, the creator of ‘The Simpsons‘, had declared in an interview with Smithsonian Magazine that the famous family’s home of Springfield was in Oregon, ending two decades of debate over what state housed America’s favorite animated town. The only problem was that wasn’t what Groening really said.

What state is ‘The Simpsons‘ hometown of Springfield in? Not only has that been one of TV’s biggest mysteries, but it’s been a long-running joke, as the animated show has teased revealing Springfield’s location numerous times but never has. Now, the mystery has been solved.

When it comes to fans of ‘The Simpsons,’ there are generally two camps — those who love it unconditionally and those who think it petered out in terms of quality sometime during the late ’90s. But whatever your opinion, there’s no denying that the cartoon’s ultraviolent show-within-a-show — ‘The Itchy & Scratchy Show’ — is pretty darned funny.

Fans of ‘The Simpsons’ were thrown into a panic a couple of weeks ago when word leaked that the voice actors on the show were holding out for more money. Fox said if they couldn’t come to an agreement this current season would be the last for the show. There’s happy news though: the show has been renewed for two more seasons — the 24th and 25th seasons, to be exact.

While ‘The Simpson’ may still be popular after 23 seasons, a contract dispute threatens the future of television’s longest running prime time series. According to the Daily Beast, 20th Century Fox Television, the production company of  ’The Simpsons,’ offered an ultimatum to the cartoon’s six principal voice actors Monday night — accept a 45 percent pay cut or this season of the show will be its l
