The Vikings have suspended cornerback Chris Cook indefinetly after he was charged Tuesday with a felony for allegedly strangling his girlfriend of 10 years for speaking with a former boyfriend. The Vikings called the allegations “very disturbing and disappointing”

Viking head coach Leslie Frazier announced today that rookie Christian Ponder will be the starting quarterback for the rest of the season including Sunday’s game at home against Green Bay. Frazier says Ponder gives the Vikings the best chance to win right now and that he’s not giving up on the 2011 season

The Vikings lost 39-10 at Chicago Sunday night to fall to 1-5 on the season. Devin Hester made a pair of big plays for the Bears. He had a 48-yard touchdown reception in the first quarter and added a 98-yard kickoff return touchdown in the 2nd half
