A man who was arrested at the Nashville home of pop-country superstar Taylor Swift will not face criminal prosecution.

TMZ reports that prosecutors have dropped all proceedings against Jacob Kulke, who was looking at charges of trespassing. The 24-year-old Wisconsin man was arrested at the singer’s house on Dec. 14 — the day after her 23rd birthday — after riding a bus from his home state to Nashville. He jumped over her fence before being detained by security, then claimed that he was dating Swift and that he was in town to help celebrate her birthday. He was arrested and held on a $10,000 bond.

Kulke was previously convicted of battery, disorderly conduct and drug possession in 2010, resulting in 13 months of probation. Despite that, prosecutors decided the trespassing case at Swift’s abode was not worth pursuing. Kulke’s attorney claimed his client evaded prosecution because the superstar does not have a “No Trespassing” sign at the perimeter of her property, which supposedly led Kulke to believe he was welcome to come on in. But a source tells TMZ that Swift’s family was reluctant to pursue the case.

The 23-year-old ‘Red’ hitmaker recently acknowledged that she’s been the object of a number of stalker threats over the past few years, but added that her top-notch security team has never let anyone get near her.

“There are a lot of them. I just try to be safe and be conscious of people around me,” Swift said of stalkers. “It’s something you just have to deal with. It’s the price you pay for getting to do what you love. You can let it take over your life and make you fearful all the time, or you can live your life in spite of it.”
