The Band Perry Team Up With Fall Out Boy for ‘CMT Crossroads’

Punk and country music are two genres that don’t mix very often, but now, they will. Country’s Band Perry and Fall Out Boy are teaming up for an episode of ‘CMT Crossroads.’

CMT Crossroads‘ believes that good music knows no boundaries. So, since 2002, the show has paired country artists with musicians of other genres to demonstrate that although the category may be divisive, music is far-reaching.

In the case of these two fan favorite bands, it will be interesting to see how the collaboration goes. Fall Out Boy, known for high-energy singles such as ‘Sugar, We’re Goin’ Down’ and ‘Dance, Dance’ sounds like a riveting contrast to the Band Perry’s Kimberly Perry and her brothers Reid and Neil, who are known for hits such as ‘Done,’ ‘Better Dig Two’ and ‘When I Die Young.’

It sounds like Fall Out Boy will be covering some of the trio’s songs, as guitarist Joseph Trohman announced on Twitter, “Staying up late, going over @thebandperry songs for @cmt crossroads tomorrow. Stoked.” Although rock acts have been featured in the past, Fall Out Boy is the first group to have originated from the pop-punk scene to appear on the show.

The Band Perry’s newest single, ‘Don’t Let Me Be Lonely,’ is already in the Top 30 on the country airplay chart, and we wonder if Fall Out Boy will take on new hits, or older favorites.

Soon, country fans will be able to see the collaboration, storytelling and covers that took place between the Perry family and Fall Out Boy. ‘CMT Crossroads: Fall Out Boy and The Band Perry’ will premiere on Friday, Nov. 29 at 10PM ET on CMT.
