No one has yet been able to top the Band Perry during the 2011 CMA Awards. The brothers-sister trio are two-for-two after picking up the CMA Award for Song of the Year for ‘If I Die Young.’ The song was also honored with the night’s first award, Single of the Year.

“You know I truly believe that ‘I Die Young’ would have been written with or without me,” Kimberly Perry said after accepting the award from presenters Kellie Pickler and ‘Twilight’ actor Kellan Lutz. “I was just so excited to have the pen when it was ready to come to Earth.”

Perry wrote the song by herself, and it went on to become the group’s first No. 1 hit. ‘If I Die Young’ is also one of the year’s top selling singles, and the video is nominated for Video of the Year. At the time of publication, that award is yet to be decided.

The two awards are the first CMA trophies for Neil, Reid and Kimberly Perry. In addition to thanking her brothers, Kimberly thanked her parents Marie and Steve Perry, saying that the band was their “labor of love.”
