Join the Central Minnesota Sustainability Project on Saturday, August 11 for a community garden celebration at two of their community gardens—the Dr. Jim Kelly Garden at CentraCare Health Plaza and Maine Prairie Garden on Maine Prairie Road.

The day will kick off with a dedication of the Dr. Jim Kelly Garden at CentraCare Health Plaza at 10:00 a.m., which was named in honor of the late Dr. James Kelly who was an avid gardener and central figure in the development of CentraCare. The CentraCare Health Foundation, local physicians and Dr. Jim Kelly’s family have all provided generous financial support to bring the garden into full bloom.

At 1:00pm you can head on over to Maine Prairie Garden at the corner of Quarry and Maine Prairie Roads to meet the gardeners and enjoy a unique cultural experience. Organic lemonade and other treats will be served.

CMSP has a vision that one day, every Central Minnesota household will consciously utilize local, sustainably grown or ethically produced food, goods and services.

In order to attain this vision, their mission is to facilitate local, sustainable food production and markets through education and community building for a diverse and inclusive Central Minnesota.
