The future Queen Elizabeth II married Philip Mountbatten, Duke of Ediburgh and former Prince of Greece and Denmark at Westminster Abbey. They are actual second cousins once removed! Before the marriage, Philip renounced his Greek and Danish titles and converted from Greek Orthodox to The Anglican Church. They received 2500 wedding gifts from around the globe!

President John F. Kennedy agreed to lift the American blockade of Cuba, ending the Cuban missile crisis. The 29 day standoff was a result of the Soviet Union's decision to install nuclear-armed ballistic missiles in Cuba, only 90 miles away from Florida.
