MINNEAPOLIS - The Minnesota Twins bounced back against the Detroit Tigers on Saturday with a 5-3 win at Target Field.

Trevor Plouffe capped a four-run fifth inning with a two-run single to make it 4-2. Josmil Pinto also blasted a home run in the 8th inning.

Phil Hughes turned in an excellent start for the Twins, going seven innings and allowing only two runs while striking out six. Glen Perkins closed the door on the Tigers in the ninth for his sixth save of the season.

The Twins will wrap up the series against the Tigers on Sunday at Target Field. You can hear all the action on AM1240 WJON with pregame at 12:40 p.m.
