The Minnesota Twins topped the Baltimore Orioles 6-5 Saturday night at Camden Yards. Justin Morneau’s slow roller up the middle in the top of the ninth was the game winning hit, and improved the Twins to 3-2 on the season.

The Twins trailed 2-0 after one inning but got one run back right away in the top of the second on a Brian Dozier sacrifice fly that scored Morneau from third.

Minnesota tied the game in the top of the third inning when Ryan Doumit singled to score Josh Willingham. Trevor Plouffe followed with a sac fly to score Morneau and give the Twins a 3-2 lead.

Chris Parmelee finished the third inning rally with his first home run of the season (on a 3-0 count) to give the Twins a 5-2 lead after three.

The Orioles got one back in the bottom of the third, then tied the game with a pair of runs off Twins starter Vance Worley to set the stage for the top of the ninth inning.

With the game tied at five in the top of the ninth, and one out, Aaron Hicks reached on an error by Baltimore first baseman Chris Davis. After a Joe Mauer strikeout, Josh Willingham drew a walk to force Hicks to second. Morneau followed with his single to give the Twins a 6-5 lead.

Glen Perkins pitched a perfect ninth for his first save of the season. Morneau (3 hits), Doumit and Parmelee each had multi-hit games for the Twins. Josh Roenicke was the winning pitcher for Minnesota.
