The Twins have agreed to sign right-handed starting pitcher Mike Pelfrey to a 1-year $4 Million contract with a possibility to earn another $1.5 Million in incentives.  Pelfrey is coming off Tommy John surgery and is expected to be ready to return during spring training.

Pelfrey is a 29-year old 7-year veteran who pitched his entire career with the New York Mets.  He has a career record of 50-54 with a 4.36 ERA.  He was 0-0 with a 2.29 ERA in 3 starts in 2012.

The Twins starting rotation is taking shape but the Twins are still expected to pursue 1 more starting pitcher.  The starting rotation projects to include the following; Kevin Correia, Vance Worley, Scott Diamond, and Mike Pelfrey.  The 5th spot could include Kyle Gibson, Cole DeVries, Sam Deduno or others.
