The Minnesota Wild were chomped 3-1 Thursday night in San Jose by the Sharks. The loss was the third in four games for Minnesota.

The Wild took five penalties in the first period alone, and allowed two power play goals in the opening frame. Joe Pavelski and Tomas Hertl each notched extra strength goals for San Jose for a 2-0 lead at the first intermission.

Pavelski would add another goal in the second period, again on the power play, to give San Jose a 3-0 lead after two.

Minnesota got on the board at 12:36 of the third period when Jonas Brodin tallied an even strength goal to make the score 3-1. Minnesota was outshot in the game 39-30.

The Wild return to the ice Saturday in Denver for a game with the Avalanche.
