The Minnesota Wild topped the Boston Bruins 4-3 Tuesday night in a game that went to a shootout at Xcel Energy Center. The Wild clinched a playoff spot before the end of the game thanks to Columbus’ overtime win over the Phoenix Coyotes.

The Wild scored just 1:05 into the game on the power play when Jason Pominville put a shot past Boston goalie Tukka Rask. Pominville’s second goal of the game at 10:56 of the first tied the gameat two heading in to the first intermission.

The Bruins scored the second period’s only goal to make the score 3-2 going in to the third period. Ryan Suter scored to tie the game for Minnesota with just 1:05 left in regulation.

Wild forward Mikko Koivu scored the lone goal in the shootout to send the Wild to victory.
