The Minnesota Wild played a game of catch-up all night before ultimately topping the Colorado Avalanche 5-4 in Game 7 overtime inside Denver's Pepsi Center. The Wild's Nino Niederreitter scored 5:02 into OT to secure a date with the Chicago Blackhawks in the next round.

The overtime goal was Niedereiter's second goal of the game. Koivu, Heatley, and Spurgeon accounted for the rest of the scoring.

With the victory, the Wild became the first team to win on the road in the seven game series. Wild goalie Darcy Kuemper left late in the third period with an undisclosed injury, and was replaced by Ilya Bryzgalov.
