I’m not claiming to be a great fisherperson but I often out-fish the men in the boat. I think it’s because I keep my hook in the water and my face to the sun. So, while the guys are fussing with their bait and changing their position, I’m hauling in the catch. If you also think women are the better fisherpeople, read on.

Come out for the 35th Annual Women Anglers of Minnesota Fishing Tournament, sponsored by Cabela's. Women Anglers of Minnesota are a non-profit organization that encourages the sport of angling in women and children.

Over $8,000 in prizes. This is a women’s only fishing tournament and all women that are 18 years old or older are invited to participate. (16-17 year olds are able to participate with an adult).

When: June 2nd, 5:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Where: Bug-Bee Hive on Lake Koronis in Paynesville, Minnesota

Cost: $85 Tournament entry or $100 Tournament entry and dinner at the banquet

The tournament is multi-species (Crappie, Sunfish, Bass, Northern and Walleye).
