HAVEN TOWNSHIP -- A Michigan man landed his single-engine airplane on a Sherburne County road this afternoon.

Sheriff's officials say the 67-year-old man cited rain and poor visibility as reasons in missing the St. Cloud Airport runway at about 1:00 p.m.

Bruce Deckinga and two adult passengers were enroute to Michigan from South Dakota when they were making a scheduled fuel stop at St. Cloud Airport. But, authorities say Deckinga undershot the runway and set the plane down on Benton County Road 90 before finishing the landing on 40th Avenue just inside the Sherburne County line.

No one was hurt and there was no damage reported.

The Federal Aviation Administration has been notified and will be investigating the incident.
